Judith Colemon
|
Judith Colemon is an author and educator who specializes in the training and certification of executive coaches. Along with co-author Brenda Corbett, Colemon penned "The Sherpa Guide: Process-Driven Executive Coaching”, the world’s most widely used textbook for coach training. Marshall Goldsmith, the world’s leading executive coach, comments: “Corbett and Colemon are doing significant work that defines the coaching industry.” Ms. Colemon’s work in executive coaching is based on her own experience as CEO for both a startup and an established institution. As CEO of the Transportation Resource and Information Project, she pioneered public and private cooperation in the “welfare to work” movement, and built an agency with a $7 million budget in short order. As CEO of the Better Housing League, she took the reins of an organization whose roots go back to World War I, and led the agency through some difficult transitions. With her passion for leadership and ten years’ experience in the top slot, she began coaching executives, one-on-one, in 2001. She’s still a practicing executive coach, and has become a leading authority in the emerging industry of executive coaching. Colemon has trained and certified coaches for Unilever Thailand, Toyota, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Hershey and the National Cancer Institute. Colemon continues certifying executive coaches, through alliances with Penn State, the University of Georgia and Texas Christian University. Her book, “The Sherpa Guide", is used as a text by the executive education programs at all three locations. Her firm, Sherpa Coaching,
is a minority business enterprise, women-owned, based in Cincinnati. Sherpa
Coaching is the credentialing body that certifies executive coaches after
their executive education experience. Sherpa Coaching is the only process
endorsed by multiple universities.
