Executive Coaching - College / University level training

Top level education for executive and business coaches

Georgia joins Penn State and Texas Christian

Business Journals, bizjournals.com,  week of June 4, 2007

An executive coaching course developed by a Cincinnati company will be offered this fall at the University of Georgia.

The 60-hour Sherpa Executive Coaching Certification Program will be held at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education in Athens, Ga., Sherpa said in a news release. The school joins Penn State University and Texas Christian University in offering the program.

The program is an effort by Sherpa Coaching LLC to develop a university-based industry standard for the training and certification of executive coaches, according to the release. Penn State and Texas Christian have both graduated classes of Sherpa-certified coaches.

The Sherpa program is based on the book "The Sherpa Guide: Process-Driven Executive Coaching," by Brenda Corbett and Judith Colemon.

Yahoo Hot Jobs, week of June 5, 2007:

Online certificate programs offer learners new routes toward rewarding careers. For established professionals, certificates offer a practical means for strengthening the degrees they've already earned without taking on the hefty commitment of an additional full-blown degree program. And, for the career changer, certificates establish a foundation to break into new, lucrative lines of work without emptying their pockets to get there.

Hot Job:
Executive Coaching.

In 2002 the Harvard Business School Journal indicated that employers are willing to pay from $1,500 to $15,000 a day for executive coaching. Leading schools like Penn State's Smeal College of Business, which added two new certificates to its executive education offerings this past year, are addressing this growing field. With applicability in any business setting -- corporations, nonprofit organizations, and government -- executive coaching certificates provide the chance to increase earning power.
